UniFi Just Unveiled the UDM Beast and 100GbE Switches at NAB 2026

April 2026

The networking world got a significant preview of what is coming next from Ubiquiti at NAB 2026 in Las Vegas. Among the announcements that caught the attention of IT professionals and commercial integrators alike were several new UniFi enterprise devices, including the UDM Beast, the Enterprise FG Core, the Enterprise 100G, and the Enterprise S rackmount platform.

What Ubiquiti Showed at NAB 2026

NAB — the National Association of Broadcasters show — is traditionally a media and broadcast industry event, but it has increasingly become a venue where networking and AV infrastructure companies showcase hardware built for high-throughput, low-latency environments.

UniFi Dream Machine Beast (UDM Beast)

The UDM Beast is a rackmount security gateway and network controller rolled into one. Think of it as the evolution of the UDM Pro line, but built for enterprise scale. Early indications suggest it will handle significantly higher firewall throughput, support more concurrent VPN connections, and serve as the central hub for larger UniFi deployments with hundreds of devices across multiple floors or buildings.

Enterprise FG Core

The Enterprise FG Core appears to be positioned as a fiber-backbone aggregation switch, targeted at campuses, multi-tenant commercial buildings, and facilities where fiber runs between floors or between buildings are already in place.

Enterprise 100G and Enterprise S

These rackmount switches round out the picture. The Enterprise 100G brings 100 Gigabit Ethernet capabilities into the UniFi ecosystem — a milestone that, until recently, required stepping outside of Ubiquiti's platform entirely.

Why This Matters for Commercial Buildings

Most enterprise-grade networking platforms at this performance tier come with significant licensing costs, proprietary management platforms, and multi-year support contracts. UniFi has historically offered comparable functionality at a much lower total cost of ownership, with no recurring licensing fees.

The addition of 100GbE switching to the UniFi ecosystem means businesses can now plan high-speed server interconnects, dense WiFi 7 access point backhauls, and video surveillance infrastructure — all within a single, unified management platform.

Software Updates Running in Parallel

Alongside the hardware news, Ubiquiti released EdgeSwitch firmware 1.12.1, which includes meaningful operational improvements: better PoE initialization behavior, DHCPv6 Snooping support, and fixes for multicast MVR configurations.

How Houston TechSys Can Help

At TechSysCable, we design and install the structured cabling, fiber backbone, and wireless infrastructure that enterprise networking platforms like UniFi rely on. When new hardware like the UDM Beast and Enterprise 100G arrives, the physical layer underneath it — the conduit pathways, the fiber terminations, the patch panel organization, the rack layouts — determines whether that hardware performs as engineered or underdelivers.
